The global logistics provider, Scan Global Logistics (SGL), strengthens its position within government and defence by acquiring Portuguese logistics company FLS (Freight & Logistics Solutions). Portugal is an important gateway to South America and regions in Africa and completes the SGL’s footprint on the Iberic Peninsula. With the acquisition of FLS, SGL is now represented in 49 countries worldwide.

The concern for global warming and climate change has grown in recent years. The transport and logistics sector accounts for a significant share of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, contributing to climate change.

Decarbonising the supply chain is a joint effort. As a result of our long-standing partnership with MAN Energy Solutions (MAN ES) in Denmark, we have initiated a project to test and develop sustainable logistics solutions. The full project scope involves 100% ocean biofuel and trucks running on renewable diesel, HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), ensuring approx. 85% reduction on the last-mile delivery. The business case will inform future co-led carbon-reducing initiatives.

Several thousand books have been donated to create a new community children's library through a sponsorship event involving the Australian International School in Singapore, the Angkor Kids Center, and Scan Global Logistics. Now, these children have access to a world of knowledge, entertainment, and fun that they did not have before.
